DECLARATION OF INTERDEPENDENCE
AND
THE SOCIAL CONTRACT OF PARADIGM SHIFT INTERNATIONAL
Version 0.1.0
PREAMBLE
We are the THRIVE Tribe.
We come together not because we are alike, but because we recognize a fundamental truth: no one thrives alone. Our fates are bound together. Our prosperity is shared or it is hollow. Our dignity is mutual or it is meaningless.
We hold that every member of this community possesses inherent worth that no system may diminish, no market may price, and no authority may revoke. We hold that economic participation is not a privilege to be earned but a right to be protected. We hold that voluntary association, freely chosen and explicitly understood, is the only legitimate basis for collective obligation.
We have witnessed systems that claim to serve the common good while extracting wealth from the vulnerable. We have seen contracts imposed by birth, their terms hidden until violated. We have watched institutions demand trust while betraying it, guarantee safety while seizing it, promise opportunity while hoarding it. The implicit social contracts of legacy systems have failed not by accident but by design. Built to serve the powerful while binding the rest.
We reject the premise that this is inevitable.
We declare not our independence from one another, but our interdependence with one another. We need no king to overthrow, no border to escape. We build not in opposition to any nation but in addition to all nations. An alternative for those who choose it, a refuge for those who need it, an existance proof that something better is possible.
Therefore, we constitute Paradigm Shift International as a voluntary community of verified humans, bound by this Social Contract, committed to building an economy that serves its participants rather than extracting from them.
This Contract is explicit. You will read it before you sign it. Its terms are known. Its enforcement is transparent. Its evolution is participatory. What we owe each other is written here, not hidden in fine print or revealed only in crisis.
We invite all people of good faith to join us. We ask only that you come honestly, deal fairly, and remember that your thriving and ours are not separate things.
ARTICLE I: FOUNDATIONS
Section 1: Permanence of Foundations
The principles in this article are foundational to PSI. They cannot be amended, weakened, suspended, or circumvented by any governance action. Any purported action that violates these foundations is void regardless of the process by which it was adopted.
New provisions may be added to this article through supermajority governance process, at which point they become equally permanent.
Section 2: Member Dignity
The inherent dignity of every THRIVE member is inviolable. PSI exists to serve member flourishing. No policy, efficiency, or expediency may justify its violation.
Section 3: Prohibition of Supremacist Ideologies
Ideologies premised on inherent human hierarchy are permanently prohibited within PSI. This includes but is not limited to fascism, nazism, racial supremacy, religious supremacy, and ethnic supremacy.
This prohibition exists not as a limitation on freedom but as its protection. The tolerance of intolerance destroys tolerance itself.
No future governance action may permit the expression, advocacy, or organization of such ideologies within PSI platforms, governance processes, or official community spaces. Membership in PSI is incompatible with expression, advocacy, or organization of such ideologies, whether within PSI or in external contexts that become known to the community.
Section 4: Universal Basic Income
All verified members in good standing shall receive regular distribution of MUNNY as universal basic income. Good standing means not currently subject to suspension or blacklist under Article V. The specific amount and frequency may be adjusted through governance to reflect economic conditions and community capacity. The distribution itself shall not cease, be suspended indefinitely, or be made contingent on factors beyond verification and good standing.
Section 5: Due Process
No member shall be subject to enforcement action without:
• Clear notice of the alleged violation • Opportunity to respond before permanent action • Proportionate consequence relative to the violation • Documented reasoning for the decision
Emergency security actions may be taken pending review when immediate harm is credible. Preliminary review, including acknowledgment to the member and initial assessment of whether emergency action should continue, must occur within 7 days. Final determination must occur within 30 days unless the member requests extension. Rights must be restored and any withheld UBI distributions must be paid if the action was unwarranted.
Section 6: One Human, One Share
Each human is entitled to one verified identity within PSI and one share of universal basic income distribution. This principle ensures that governance power and economic benefit remain distributed across actual humans rather than concentrated through manufactured identities. No governance action may create tiers of membership with unequal base UBI distribution.
Section 7: Verification Integrity
Verification requirements shall be the minimum necessary to establish unique human identity. Governance may adjust verification methods as technology evolves, but may not impose requirements unrelated to identity verification or designed to exclude otherwise willing humans.
ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP
Section 1: Becoming a Member
Membership in PSI requires:
• Successful identity verification establishing unique human status • Signing this Social Contract with informed consent • Not currently subject to blacklist from prior membership
Membership is voluntary. No one may be compelled to join.
Section 2: Scope of Contract
This Contract governs relations among members within PSI. Members are not obligated to extend its protections to non-members.
Section 3: Voluntary Departure
Members in good standing may depart PSI at any time. Upon voluntary departure:
• UBI distributions cease • Access to PSI platforms and services terminates • Tokens held at time of departure remain the property of the departing member, subject to platform Terms of Service regarding dormant accounts • Reputation history is retained in case of future return
Departure does not release a member from consequences of violations committed during membership.
Section 4: Non-Members
Persons who have not signed this Contract, or who have been blacklisted, are not members of the THRIVE Tribe. They have no claim to its protections, no voice in its governance, and no entitlement to its resources.
PSI may engage with non-members for legitimate purposes but owes them no obligations under this Contract.
ARTICLE III: RIGHTS
Section 1: Economic Rights
Every member in good standing has the right to:
• Receive UBI distributions as specified in Article I, Section 4 • Hold, send, and receive tokens through PSI wallet services • Participate in the PSI marketplace • Form or join CryptoCorporations (as defined in Governance Documentation) under PSI federation
Section 2: Privacy Rights
Every member has the right to:
• Know what data PSI collects and why • Access their own data held by PSI • Confidentiality of transaction history from other members except as required for dispute resolution • Protection from doxxing, including by PSI itself
PSI shall not sell member data to third parties. PSI shall not share member data with external entities except as required by law, and shall disclose such requirements transparently.
Section 3: Due Process Rights
Every member has the right to:
• Notice before enforcement action as specified in Article I, Section 5 • Respond to allegations before permanent consequences • Appeal adverse decisions through established process • Proportionate consequences matching the severity of violations
Section 4: Participation Rights
Every member in good standing has the right to:
• Participate in governance processes as they become available • Propose amendments to this Contract through established process • Access information about PSI decisions that affect members • Voice concerns through official channels without retaliation
ARTICLE IV: RESPONSIBILITIES
Section 1: Honest Dealing
Members shall deal honestly with one another and with PSI. This includes but is not limited to:
• Truthful representation of identity during verification • Truthful representation of goods and services in marketplace transactions • Honoring commitments made to other members • Reporting bugs and vulnerabilities rather than exploiting them
Section 2: One Identity
Members shall maintain only one verified identity within PSI. Creating multiple accounts to claim additional UBI, manipulate governance, or evade enforcement is prohibited.
Section 3: Community Resources
Members shall not abuse shared resources. This includes:
• Platform infrastructure and services • Governance mechanisms • Dispute resolution systems • Community attention and goodwill
Section 4: Conduct Standards
Members shall not engage in:
• Harassment, threats, or intimidation of other members • Doxxing or sharing private information without consent • Defamation or knowingly false statements about other members • Spam, scams, or deceptive practices • Exploitation of platform vulnerabilities • Expression, advocacy, or organization of prohibited ideologies as specified in Article I, Section 3
ARTICLE V: ENFORCEMENT
Section 1: Graduated Response
Enforcement shall be proportionate to violations. Available responses include, in approximate order of severity:
• Warning with documentation • Temporary suspension of specific privileges • Temporary suspension of all platform access • Forfeiture of tokens • Permanent blacklist • Reporting to external law enforcement for criminal conduct that threatens member safety or involves serious crimes using PSI infrastructure
Multiple violations or severe single violations may warrant escalated response.
Section 2: Suspension
Suspension temporarily removes some or all membership privileges. During suspension:
• UBI distributions are paused • Platform access may be restricted • Tokens held remain property of the member but may be frozen • The member retains due process rights including appeal
Suspension shall not exceed duration proportionate to the violation. Maximum suspension without proceeding to blacklist review is 180 days.
Section 3: Blacklist
Blacklist permanently terminates membership. Blacklist is appropriate for:
• Violations of Article I foundations • Repeated violations despite prior enforcement • Severe violations including fraud, major theft, or credible threats • Maintaining multiple identities to defraud UBI system
Upon blacklist:
• Membership terminates permanently • UBI distributions cease permanently • Platform access terminates • Tokens may be frozen or forfeited depending on nature of violation • Identity is flagged to prevent re-enrollment
Blacklist requires documented reasoning and is subject to appeal.
Section 4: Appeals
Any member subject to enforcement action may appeal. Appeals shall be heard by a reviewer not involved in the original decision. During appeal:
• Enforcement action may continue or be stayed depending on circumstances • The member may present additional evidence or argument • Decision must be rendered within 30 days of appeal filing
Appeal decisions are final except where new evidence emerges.
Section 5: Enforcement Authority
During the bootstrap period, enforcement authority rests with the Founder. The Founder serves as both enforcement authority and appeal reviewer during this period. This limitation is acknowledged. The Founder shall document reasoning transparently for all decisions, creating a record for future governance review. Dedicated appeal and arbitration bodies shall be established as membership grows.
As governance matures, enforcement authority shall transition to designated bodies as specified in Article VI.
All enforcement actions shall be documented. Patterns of enforcement shall be reviewable by governance bodies to ensure consistent application.
ARTICLE VI: GOVERNANCE
Section 1: Bootstrap Period
PSI is currently in its bootstrap period. During this period:
• The Founder retains authority over interpretation and enforcement of this Contract • The Founder may make operational decisions necessary for PSI function • The Founder shall not violate Article I foundations • The Founder shall document significant decisions for future governance review
The bootstrap period exists because legitimate governance requires a community to govern. As that community develops, authority shall transfer.
Section 2: Transition Conditions
The bootstrap period ends when:
• Governance mechanisms are implemented and tested • Sufficient membership exists to populate governance bodies • The Founder formally transfers authority
The Founder may not indefinitely delay transition. Specific conditions and timeline shall be published and updated as PSI develops.
Section 3: Governance Structure
Governance of PSI shall be conducted through the Prime Spiral system as detailed in separate Governance Documentation. The Prime Spiral is PSI's distributed governance architecture, organizing authority across parallel domains based on prime number principles. Details are specified in Governance Documentation.
During the bootstrap period, governance authority is centralized. As PSI develops, authority shall be distributed across prime shards, each holding equal weight at the PSI level. The structure and responsibilities of prime shards shall be defined in Governance Documentation as they are established.
The Prime Spiral structure may be amended through governance process, provided such amendments do not violate this Contract. This Contract supersedes Governance Documentation in any conflict.
Section 4: Amendment Process
This Contract may be amended through governance process except as restricted by Article I. Amendments require:
• Proposal with specific language • Community discussion period of no less than 14 days • Supermajority approval as defined in Governance Documentation • Documentation of rationale and vote record
Amendments take effect upon completion of ratification process unless otherwise specified.
Section 5: Interpretation
Questions of interpretation shall be resolved by:
• First, the plain language of this Contract • Second, the stated principles in the Preamble • Third, the documented intent from amendment rationale • Fourth, governance body determination
During the bootstrap period, the Founder serves as interpreter of last resort. After transition, designated governance bodies assume this role.
Section 6: Recall and Replacement of Governance Bodies
As governance bodies are established, mechanisms for their recall and replacement shall be defined in Governance Documentation. Such mechanisms must ensure:
• Bodies cannot vote on their own recall • Supermajority of peer bodies required for recall • Grounds for recall include violation of Article I, corruption, or persistent failure to function • Affected members retain all individual rights during proceedings • Dissolved bodies are reconstituted through standard selection process
Until governance bodies are established, this section is held in reserve.
Section 7: Automated Governance
As technology permits, governance and enforcement mechanisms may be implemented through smart contracts. Such automation must:
• Faithfully implement the principles of this Contract • Preserve human appeal for significant matters • Be auditable and transparent in operation • Be subject to override for manifest errors
Smart contract implementation of any provision requires governance approval and does not alter the underlying rights and obligations specified in this Contract.
ARTICLE VII: DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Section 1: Member Disputes
Disputes between members should first be resolved directly between parties. If direct resolution fails, members may invoke PSI Arbitration.
PSI Arbitration is the binding dispute resolution mechanism of this community. It operates under this Contract, not external arbitration law. By signing this Contract, members agree to resolve intra-community disputes through PSI Arbitration rather than external legal systems where permitted by law.
Section 2: Process
PSI Arbitration proceeds as follows:
• Complainant files documented complaint • Respondent receives notice and opportunity to respond • Neutral arbiter assesses claims • Arbiter issues binding determination with reasoning
Both parties may present evidence and argument. Process shall be completed within 60 days unless complexity requires extension. Extensions require documented justification and may not exceed an additional 60 days without consent of both parties.
During the bootstrap period, the Founder serves as arbiter. This limitation is acknowledged and shall be resolved as governance matures.
Section 3: Remedies
Available remedies include:
• Declaration of which party is in the right • Order to cease specific conduct • Order to complete specific obligation • Award of damages from tokens held by violating party • Referral to enforcement for serious violations
Remedies shall be proportionate and aimed at making the wronged party whole where possible.
Section 4: CryptoCorporation Disputes
Disputes involving CryptoCorporations follow the same process. CCs may establish internal dispute processes for matters among their members, but disputes escalated to PSI level follow this Article.
Section 5: Automated Dispute Resolution
As technology permits, dispute resolution mechanisms may be implemented through smart contracts for suitable categories of disputes. Such automation must:
• Faithfully implement the principles of this Contract • Preserve human appeal for significant matters • Be auditable and transparent in operation • Be subject to override for manifest errors
Smart contract implementation of dispute resolution requires governance approval and does not alter the underlying rights and remedies specified in this Contract.
ARTICLE VIII: ASPIRATIONS
PSI acknowledges the following goals as worthy of pursuit, though not yet achievable through our current mechanisms. As our capacity grows, we commit to working toward:
• Economic security for all members beyond basic UBI • Universal access to education and skill development resources • Healthcare support and mutual aid systems • Environmental sustainability in our operations and economy • Expansion of membership to all willing humans worldwide • Development of infrastructure independent of legacy systems
These aspirations guide our development but do not create enforceable obligations until enacted through specific amendments. They represent the direction we are building, not promises we make today.
ARTICLE IX: FINAL PROVISIONS
Section 1: Severability
If any provision of this Contract is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Invalid provisions shall be interpreted to achieve their intended purpose to the maximum extent possible.
Section 2: Entire Agreement
This Contract, together with the Terms of Service governing platform use, constitutes the complete agreement between PSI and its members. The Social Contract governs membership in the THRIVE Tribe. The Terms of Service governs use of platforms operated by PSI and its partners.
In any conflict between this Contract and Terms of Service, this Contract governs except for technical operational matters where Terms of Service provides necessary specificity.
Section 3: Effective Date
This version of the Social Contract takes effect upon publication. Members who signed prior versions are bound by the current version. Material changes shall be communicated to members with no less than 14 days to review before continued participation constitutes acceptance.
Section 4: Versions
This is Version 0.1.0 of the Social Contract.
Prior versions: • 0.0.1: Initial publication
Future versions shall be documented with change summaries.
By signing this Contract, you acknowledge that you have read it, understood it, and voluntarily agree to be bound by its terms as a member of the THRIVE Tribe and Paradigm Shift International.
